Near the beginnings of coming in to Seward. The day we left on this vacation was the day it started flooding around Central Texas (close to where we live). The day of this trip was the day after hearing that our property had 8.5" rain fall within a 24-hour period. We stopped for lunch in Seward and the waitress asked where we were from. We replied "Austin, TX, where all the flooding is going on". She then told us that every fall Seward gets a "monsoon" weather pattern and flooding is so common to them that just about every residence has an inflatable raft (or row boat)tied up outside the front door, and it's their common form of transportation during that time of year.
