Although the pictures of this (dead) rattlesnake were taken during the daytime, Dave killed it around midnight the night before. Jeremy's 2 dogs' loud barking alerted us something was amiss outside. The snake was coiled up in the middle of their 20 x 20 dog pen with them. Dave went in with a hoe and killed it, then threw it over the fence. I took Jennifer to see it the next day. She put her flip-flop next to it to compare its' size to but Dave had measured it as 5-ft long.
