We let Rebel out of the back yard one day while we were out gardening, so he could roam our property a bit. He barked like crazy, then came back to our deck and was bleeding from two holes near his nose and his face was starting to swell. He had obviously tangled with a snake (probably a rattle snake), which bit him on top of his nose. After taking this picture, his nose/(jaw area) swoll to about twice that size. The vet said chances were he would survive the snake bite, and he did. It took about a week for the swelling to finally go away.
