I took this picture for three reasons: 1) the unusual wreath that adorns it, and 2) this headstone is for the grave of the nearest rancher to Aunt Reta's family that when I was a child growing up and we'd go to the King Ranch where my uncle was the foreman of a division of, the Hopper family would frequently be invited to share a meal with us all so I knew this man and his family, and 3) I thought it ironic that the Hoppers & McBrides were about the closest neighbors to one another and as it turns out, the Hopper family plots were adjacent to the McBride family plots!
