Bingham Falls was supposedly only a 10-minute drive from our resort, with the trail head right off the same road. We tried on couple of occasions to find where that trail head was. The last time we tried we (thought) we had found it. The directions said it was only a 5-minute hike and since it was raining lightly (and I'm the one who loves waterfalls and was our designated photographer) I offered to make the hike up the mountainside in the rain, leaving my companions waiting in the car. The path was mostly rock-stacked steps, almost ALL up-hill! I hiked for 20 minutes (a bit slower due to wet rocks and slippery mud in between them), finally giving up after 20 minutes up and headed back down, which took me 15 minutes. The photos showing chunks of rocky trail were not duplicated. I probably climbed 7-9 of those stretches. About half-way up my climb I could no longer hear traffic on the road below me. As I came back down I couldn't see the road until I was about 3/4's of the way down. I never found the illusive Bingham Falls but what I DID see was BEAUTIFUL! There was one tiny waterfall coming right down and crossing my path but was just from the recent rain and NOT Bingham Falls (which I had a photo of). The description also mentioned being able to "hear" the waterfall well before seeing it. I never heard it... :(
