The Wheat Crop
July 12

Tuesdays I ride into town with Lawn, first thing in the morning, and spend the day with my parents.
They are both in their mid seventies and they moved into a retirement community several years ago.
For the people who want them, there are garden plots and my Dad plants a patch of spring wheat in his
each year. He gets great entertainment out of this, even though he left the farm, where my Grandparents
raised wheat, just as fast as he could, when he was out of High School, to become an accountant.
Funny how things change....they live in the building you can see in the background, now.

I hope the combine doesn't ruin the lawn!

Looks like a terrific garden. Your dad must be very proud of his wheat crop.

He's touching base. We all seem to have the need to do that at some stage of our lives. Nice crop he has too.

It is also a very beautiful garden. That wheat must bring pleasure to many.

No, but I'll have to check it out, now. When the first issue came out I was over in Asotin and my old computer didn't have the current version of Adobe so I couldn't download the first issue. I forgot all about it, when I got home, but now I'll have to go download the new one, as well as the first issue. Thanks for the reminder! :-)

Have you seen the section on incongruity in the Pbase magazine this month? This is a neat example of that.
