Growing here on downed cottonwood. A bracket fungus with a highly irregular surface, hard texture, that is a saprobe of beech and other hardwoods. Fruiting bodies 3-20+ cm and semicircular, with slot-like pores and a white pore surface. Inedible and bitter. Cap color white to gray, often with green algal growth over the surface
