Canadian Goose


Another spot meter experiment. I metered off his side, and used -1 exposure compensation to put his
feathers a little below medium gray. The birds at Swan Lake were very friendly and didn't mind
getting their pictures taken.

Nikon D200 ,Nikkor 80-200mm f/2.8D ED AF
1/2500s f/4.0 at 80.0mm iso100 full exif

Beautiful bird, last year they were back in Alberta on March the 25th. May be late as we have so much snow...thanks for sharing...drop by and see my geese if you find the time, I know you would be impressed...Thanks for sharing Bob...

I think owning the 50mm f/1.4 and the 24mm f/2.8, although they both meter on the D200, has opened your eyes to light! I bought an FM and an FT-2 today, both black. Spot metering works so much better than matrix metering! If I could, I'd go to Africa to photograph wildlife. But maybe we end up close to the Louisiana swamps, which would not be bad!
