I teach a history class that covers World War II and I like to break out this prop to show the
technology of that age. I preface it by asking, "do you want to see the computer that developed the
atomic bomb? I have one just like it." It's a slide rule.
K&E, Pickett, Post, Dietzgen: names I recall from the 1960s. I still have a nice K&E rule and a modest (high school) Pickett rule: cherished mementoes.
