The Cornerstone

Clinton Middle School was originally built during the Depression by the WPA. It has been added onto
twice since then, and is due to be replaced by a brand new building next school year. The Principal
hosted an open house this Saturday so all the alums could tour the building one last time. This
building is set to be demolished next month.

The land for the school was donated by Charles and Louise Clinton, who owned a large house at the
location. Their son, Dr. Fred Clinton, was one of the co-discoverers of the Red Fork oil find
called Sue Bland #1. This discovery set off the oil boom in eastern Oklahoma.

Pretty cool "look" to it. Never noticed the 2 "bricked up" windows before now. And there are 13 steps to the front door. Scary...
