PALM WARBLER (Dendroica palmarum) Non-breeding plumage

Myakka River State Park - Sarasota, Florida

This species is a small songbird which breeds on the edges of bogs, making their nests on or near the ground. They migrate to the southeastern United States, Mexico and islands in the Caribbean. Their main diet consists of berries and insects. A characteristic behavior of this bird is frequent bobbing of the tail.
