Home City: Dover ARK GPS: 35.55,-93.1622 (link) Shade: Fair Proximity to Food/Gas: 45 Minutes (Jasper Or Russellville) How We Found It: Tim Ernst Book p38 Fee: No Years Visited: 2016, 2020, 2021 Smoothness Of Road: Excellent Photo Gallery: Here Video: YouTube, Gez Rogers Pros: Large jumping platform, scenic waterfalls on same grounds, smooth road. Cons: Not much shade, far away from gas and food Grade: B+ This is a good spot as an alternative to the Buffalo River spots. It's based on Piney Creek, and there are other "mini spots" similar to it on the way to this one. It has a good beach area (although it's somewhat rocky), and a good jumping platform (although it's hard for me to climb onto it, my kids have no trouble and in fact rather enjoy doing so). There are also waterfalls on the premises, although I've never checked them out. The minuses of this spot--it has little in the way of shade, and it's not close to other places so much. Once you get there, you will be a good distance from any eating places or gas stations, so it's a good idea to gas up (and fill up your stomach, or pack a lunch in a cooler etc) before heading out to it. Having said that, there is a small gas station somewhat on the way on ARK 7/16, noted below (and another I found in research, although I can't confirm it actually exists, whereas the first one does). There is also a Hardee's and Chick-Fil-A etc about 35 min away in Russellville, although at that point it appears you'll then be going out of the way towards any points of interest.
