I bought the spices with us from home, added the beans, chicken, garlic salt (instead of garlic itself), onion, jalapeno peppers & 1 green pepper from the grocery store. We decided to WALK to/from the market vs getting in the car AGAIN--lugging those bags back up that hilly road was hard, even if it was barely 1/4 of a mile. I sliced the produce on a paper plate with a plastic knife near the bathroom sink. The chili slow-cooked all night & was ready for eating first thing in the morning & was there as a quick but very hearty meal for the entire day. (20130816_214628_ns_d3100)
