Departure day. I snuck off for a quick AM dip at Grinder's Ferry (don't know if I even took a photo), then hurried back to start packing for leaving. Rather than eat at the diner in-town, possibly for the last time ever (if it closes down or whatever as someone mentioned), we made a point to eat at the Hardee's/Krispy Kreme in Conway, (1) because of course I had to have a steak and egg biscuit and get some Krispy Kreme Donuts and (2) because it would get us going towards getting on out of town in earnest (vs sort of "hanging around" at the diner).
My car had been making buzzing sounds over the past day, while in Conway I noticed the right-front tire had a bubble, indicating it was apt to burst any minute. After a few phone calls I found a place which had a tire for cheap, Conway Auto Tire (how appropriate of a name). My wife headed on while I got the tire fixed, asking a few times if I was ok (it went fine).
On the way out I remembered that I didn't recall packing the computer. I contacted Helen in my wife's car, they hadn't seen it. I messaged the cabin owners--the computer was there. They offered to bring it to me but I was now about 2 hours into leaving, I didn't want to waste 2 hours driving back and then driving back again, so I arranged for them to ship it. It was hard not to get upset over the prospect of my photos being in limbo this way, but I trusted the process (ultimately they shipped it out Mon it arrived Thur all was well). I stopped in Bojangles in Prescott ARK on the way back, and that was it.
