Finned willow prominent moth caterpillar (Notodonta scitipennis), #7926

Larose Forest

Feeding on willow. It has been a good year for finding this species in Larose Forest, meaning it has been a good year for the moth. Last time I saw this species was 2019, in fact, that was also the first time I'd seen them. I have looked in the years since to no avail until this year. They are the dragons of the caterpillar world. In case you are wondering, the head is on the right.

C’est une formidable chenille et merci d’avoir indiqué où se trouve la tête. Elle est superbe tout comme votre photo.
