Cleft-headed looper (Biston betularia), #6640

Larose Forest

Trying very hard to be a twig on the willow shrub. This is a large Geometrid caterpillar, about 70mm long. The moth is known as the Pepper and Salt Geometer or the Peppered Moth.

It’s even attached like a twig. Good on you for even spotting it and then getting a great photo.
