Morning glory prominent moth caterpillar (Schizura ipomaeae), #8005

This Morning Glory Prominent moth caterpillar is mimicking the dead edge of a bur oak leaf. I had to look twice before realizing it was indeed a large caterpillar. Many moth larvae feed on leaf edges and their colouring can make them appear part of the leaf. Clever!
