An early instar (2nd or 3rd maybe?), it was clinging to the tip of a willow shrub, which is its main food source. Larose has thousands of wild willow shrubs, so you'd think these larvae would be more commonly seen but I've only seen them three times in years of looking. However, the moth regularly comes to lights set up in the forest at night.
