Sawfly (Tenthredo basilaris)

Larose Forest

Sawflies are in the Hymenoptera family, and are a form of "primitive wasp". The adults lack the wasp waist of other wasps, and their larvae strongly resemble larvae of the Lepidoptera. They don't sting!
