American robin

At home

I was amused to see this robin check out the bird bath and then disregard it in favour of this flooded plant pot which was not particularly salubrious, I'd have thought, with soil, bits of old vegetation, etc. it would have been the worst place for a bath. S/he had a good bathe in it anyway.

Même si ce n’était pas la place la plus propre pour se baigner, il a l’air d’avoir apprécier ce moment.
C’est joliment photographié

Maybe its version of bath salts. Great that you caught this moment.

He/she seems quite comfortable! American robins seem larger than the UK variety. V.

We know only cats would turn their nose up at something so primitive. My Lucy checks where the air conditioner fan is directing then positions herself to get a direct hit.. :)

Definitely prefers the natural world!

I’ve seen them splash about in mud puddles in the driveway while the near by bird bath is clean and available. I think this shot is excellent , such wonderful detail.

all the materials might have offered a good testured scrub to go along with the water...the dappled light might have gone over well too..
