Primrose moths (Schinia florida), #11164

Larose Forest

These beautiful moths are perched on an evening primrose plant with their heads inside the flower. The best way to find these moths is to look at the evening primroses and watch for the pink wings. Sometimes they are well up inside the flower, sometimes as here, one is almost outside the flower.

Ce papillon a les couleurs de la fleur, quel mimétisme. C’est une superbe image.

What a great capture of these beautifully colored moths. I too thought they were petals at first glance. V.

Awesome. Although we've looked, we have come up empty.
