Primrose moth (Schinia florida), #11164

Larose Forest

Never get tired of seeing this strikingly beautiful moths. The ones I saw today were all perched outside the flowers, even those that were open, though here as you see, this flower is closed. The caterpillars are also present now and look just like the seed pods of the native evening primrose plant (Oenethera biennis) on which these moths and larvae are dependent.
