Treehopper (Enchenopa)

Larose Forest

This was on a Black Locust tree. These are thorn mimics, and can sometimes be found in a row looking like thorns on a tree. There are many species of Enchenopa, usually specific to just one tree species. If you're wondering, the head is on the right under that thornlike projection... you can just see an eye.

It does look like a thorn! Amazing what little creatures do for camouflage.

so...thorn-like...and not mimicing a hitch-hiking almond....cool you caught it on a black locust too, as those tres here are very large, and only branch out towards the top..
