Saw these two squirrels having a bit of a standoff at the dog park today. The red was defending a supply of seeds provided by a visitor, and no way was the grey squirrel going to get by. Unlike the European red squirrels which are more timid, our native red squirrels are very feisty and will take on anyone. They especially disdain the much larger grey squirrels who are terrified of them!!
