Treehopper (Enchenopa)

Reveler Conservation Area

There are many species of Enchenopa treehoppers, species often determined by the plant they are on. This one was on a nannyberry (Viburnum lentago). They mimic thorns or small protrusions on a twig. This one is sitting near a sticky mass which covers the eggs she has laid.
