Jeweled tailed slug moth caterpillar (Packardia geminata), #4659

Larose Forest

Like all the slug moth caterpillars, this one does not look like the typical caterpillar. All slug moth caterpillars move by sort of rolling along, the way a slug or a snail move, rather than walking the way other caterpillars do. Found on yellow birch.
