Moonseed moth (Plusiodonta compressipalpis), #8534

Reveler Conservation Area

I think this small moth is quite exquisite with its swirls of pattern and that violet/blue line. The larvae feed on Moonseed vine (Menispermum), hence its very fanciful name.

Fine work Christine! You did create the impression of woven brocade.

The only clue it’s actually a moth is the antenna. Really interesting find! Moonseed is a new one on me too! The plant seems to be a back east up north native. Great photo to share! BV
