Pine grosbeak

Beechwood Cemetery

A flock of about 45 feeding on the crabapples. I was told that a sharp-shinned hawk dove into the flock and apparently took one bird, earlier in the morning. This is probably why these usually approachable birds didn't let me get anywhere close to them when I went to look for them. This was taken from a distance and cropped heavily.

so Christine, does this mean that you resemble a hawk, or just have sharp shins?...good to note a creature that actually like crab apples..
