Datana moth caterpillars (Datana)

Reveler Conservation Area

This cluster of small Datana moth caterpillars is quite something... they are all clinging on to one Basswood leaf! The next shot shows a single caterpillar in a characteristic pose for the species.

Oh my gosh... these remind me of the "spitfire" grubs on our eucalyptus trees,
we dread them falling down on us.. v

hanging by a thread it seems...astonishing how determined life-forms can be...these caramel cuties remind of tent caterpillars too..
