Youtful underwing moth (Catocala subnata), #8797

Reveler Conservation Area

This huge underwing moth is perfectly camouflaged against the bark of the tree. The ONLY reason I noticed it is because I almost put my hand on it! At the last moment I realized it was a moth. The camouflage is amazing. If you look on the right side of the wing, you'll notice a tiny yellow leafhopper resting there.
