Six-spotted tiger beetles (Cicindela sexguttata)

Reveler Conservation Area

Lots of these beetles yesterday. They tend to fly along the path in front of you, land, then just as you aim the camera, take off again!

Marvellous image of these jewels! In Australia we call these (or very similar) Christmas Beetles, because they appear at that time and look like Christmas decorations!

I know they are hard to catch. I go down on the ground on my belly and move forward on my elbows. This is a very good capture of them
