These tiny critters belong to the Class Arachnida (Spiders, mites, etc). They are less than 3mm in size and often found in homes, though rarely seen because so small. This is the second one I've found at home in the last year. They will feed on mites, the larvae of clothes moths, carpet beetle larvae, etc. So you see, they are very useful. And no, they are NOT SCORPIONS!! Nor do they bite or sting humans. As can be seen, theire front pincers resemble those of a true scorpion, but they have no tail. Also, true scorpions are far, far bigger.
