Red squirrel cleaning sap off itself

Fletcher Wildlife Garden

This squirrel had been lapping up a lot of maple sap running down the trunk of a manitoba maple. It was also cutting the tips off twigs and eating the sap that spilled out. It must have got a lot of sap on itself because it soon began an assiduous cleaning, especially of hands and where its body had brushed against the sap. Like humans, these guys love maple syrup!

A composition with a repeating pattern is always visually pleasing, especially when the subject is so cute! Voted.
