Yellow nutsedge moths (Diploschizia impigritella), #2346

Morris Island Conservation Area

These moths are tiny.. they are also very active and didn't stop moving, so between that and the wind moving the flowers, it was a challenge. I didn't even know these were moths at first, so tiny were they that I didn't actually see what I was shooting until I viewed the first couple of images, then I tried for more and better shots, but not very successfully. There were dozens of them clustered around the flowers of two blue-stemmed goldenrods (Solidago caesia).

Very colorful little moths; nice markings. Great photo under the conditions and, if that's goldenrod, they are indeed tiny. Vote.

You did a good job with the picture considering the challenging conditions.
