Sawfly larva

Found this small shiny sawfly larva on a red oak. It was moving down the stem by coiling its body around and around, a bit like someone sliding down a long pole. As can be seen, it emulates bird scat!

Looks like it's done a good job of destroying that leaf! Looks fat and kinda cute coiled around the stem.
