One-spotted variant moth caterpillar (Hypagyrtis unipunctata), #6654

Gatineau Park

This tiny creature was found on Bur Oak. According to Bug Guide: "larvae overwinter exposed on tree bark and branches, and are important food sources for wintering insectivorous birds in the east." These may be the larvae I see chickadees plucking from tree trunks in winter.
