Snout Weevil (Cryptorhynchus sp.)

Reveler Conservation Area

When I first saw this weevil, I thought it had a weird parasite attached to it. It is small enough that I could not see it well with the naked eye. Only on seeing an enlarged image did I realize it was sitting next to a gall! This is a Cryptorhynchus species of weevil, a cryptically coloured critter, one of many in the genus, all looking fairly similar.
