Mullein (Verbascum thapsus)

Reveler Conservation Area

A very tall plant often found growing in disturbed areas, such as logged out sites, along roadsides, in old fields, etc. It is a European plant brought over by settlers long ago. It used to be known as Candelwick plant because it would be dipped in tallow and lit as a poor man's taper.
