Ambush bug (Phymata)

Reveler Conservation Area

As summer draws on, the ambush bugs start to appear. One day they are absent, the next they seem to be everywhere. They don't seem fussy about which plants they perch on; here the bug is sitting on yarrow. They are well-named for they sit and wait until an unsuspecting insect comes too close and then they ambush it!

What a patient hunter and it's color is matching so well with the plant, Christine. V
