Unfortunately this poor creature is dead, hit by a car. But it is such a beautiful dragonfly and it is the first one I have seen. That is, the first I've seen up close (I saw one high in a tree took a very dreadful shot, and had no idea what it was). Thanks to Chris L, for helping with this one.
