Rose chafer (Macrodactylus subspinosus)

Reveler Conservation Area

Although called rose chafers, these insects nectar on a variety of plants, while their larvae can feed on the roots of an equally wide variety of vegetation. This one is on an ox-eye daisy. It is unusual to find only one, as quite often they are seen in multiples.
