Planthopper (Acanalonia bivittata)

Reveler Conservation Area

This is one of my favourite insects for its shape, its colour, its bright pink eyes! The veins on the wing mimic the veins of a leaf, and the brown marks on the top mimic brown patches in leaves. For a look at the unusual nymph stage it goes through before becoming this green adult, please see: http://www.pbase.com/laroseforest/image/158686945
