QU Biological Station. Rotting logs were full of these tiny perfectly round and vividly coloured slime moulds. According to George Barron's mushroom guide, these are the young fruitbodies (sporangia) which will smear if touched, as I found out when I did touch them. They turn a lovely mustard yellow when mature.
