Larose Forest

These caterpillars grow to about 4 or 4.5 cm, and are often found on birch, willow oak as well as other shrubs and trees. This one was on a birch.

I can't get over how diverse these caterpillars are! I guess I thought they always came in one standard color and size. Beautifully detailed and patterned in this great capture. V.
