Rose hooktip caterpillar (Oreta rosea), #6255

A rather odd looking caterpillar with a granular appearance, which turns into a pretty yellow and pink moth. The long pointed thing is the tail, the head is on the right side of the body. Wagner, in his 'Caterpillars of North America', says that this caterpillar is a dead leaf mimic.

I can see the resemblance to a dead leaf. He looks like he's covered in sugar. V.
