Turkey vulture

Mer Bleue area. Nature's garbage men these birds, efficiently cleaning up the dead animals often along our roads, victims of our speeding cars. Their naked heads are that way for a reason... since they feed on carrion, feathers on their heads would become clotted and soaked with the remains they eat. I have always had a high regard for these big, and very inoffensive birds.

Up close you get to see the blue colouring in their feathers. There are so many more of these birds in the city.

Well then, if you rate them highly so do I. Still, no beauty contest winner, but I am for efficient cleanups. V
