Virginian tiger moth (Spilosoma virginica) #8137

A beautiful crisp white tiger moth, with a hint of colour on its abdomen, just seen here. This is a common moth, both in its adult and caterpillar stages. Larval host plants are varied and include birch, willow and maple.

I like its white color and the wooly looking area around its head. Perfect detail on this pretty moth. V.
