Green Lacewing eggs

I happened to be looking at some yellowed virginia creeper leaves, alongside a hiking trail, when I noticed some tiny eggs floating on the ends of long strands of fibre: green lacewing eggs, each about the size of a pinhead. Green lacewings (Chrysoperla sp.)are very beneficial garden insects and are sometimes sold as a biocontrol agent. Their larvae are voracious feeders on aphids and the larvae of sawflies amongst other things.

It's amazing they survive the wind on those tiny threads. Interesting larvae and fantastic capture. V.

That is so interesting. I would have thought it was some type of growth from the plant. V
