Hover fly (Eristalis flavipes), bumble mimic

Mer Bleue area

Don't you think this hover fly does a pretty good job of pretending to be a bumble bee? It was nectaring on goldenrod with dozens of real bumble bees, and one had to look closely to see it was a fly not a bee. But the eyes, the short antennae, and the wings are a give away!
