Hover fly and honey bee on dandelion

There was quite a scattering of dandelions across the lawns near the research buildings on the Experimental Farm, and these were attracting numerous honey bees and some hover flies. I was just about to photograph the hover fly here (Eristalis tenax), when a honey bee landed. This is a good chance to compare the bee mimic fly on the left, with the real thing on the right.

They take every opportunity to gather some nectar. Great that you can compare them.
